Can you believe it?
I have not posted for sometime BUT Cameron & Clegg overwhelm me. It seems that there is nothing to do but criticise the government and that is boring, but eventually their behaviour overwhelms me.
Cameron & Osborne have managed to get a state owned French company to build a nuclear energy plant in Britain with (state owned) Chinese money. This after promising them a guaranteed income, though I do not know if the finer details have been published. To cap this total failure of British industry and the much vaunted city of London, David Cameron says that this is wonderful news for the British nuclear industry. Can someone explain how this is gong to help the British nuclear industry.
There will be some labouring jobs and some local firms will get to do some work but all the expertise will be from abroad. If this is going to kick start the local nuclear engineering industry I will be very surprised. Despite what the government is saying, tax payers in the guise of people who use electricity are guaranteeing the deal. Almost certainly the small print will make sure that EDF and the Chinese will make big fat profits or walk away with no loss. If you think the Tories know how to deal with finance and big companies look at what is going on in Norfolk, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-24631879. Norfolk ratepayers might be left with bill of £25.9m for nothing after the previous Tory administration sold the count down the river.
As to thi government support for the British, they have just announced that the new head of NHS is going to be an American who is head of n American private health group, This is after a Canadian head of the bank of England, an Australian senior adviser to Cameron and a proposal to allow police chiefs from countries with a similar legal system. As I have said before, is that the problem with parliament, they are, at least the vast majority British.
Another interesting point might be that the age of the people we are looking for in Britain would all have been brought up during the Thatcher era. So is this desire to go abroad for talent merely a consequence of the failure of the Thatcher era's education policy. That is difficult for me to believe as my children survived that period, as did many of their friends, without being corrupted. Though it is clear that many failed to survive, one only has to look at that very nasty piece of work Elizabeth Truss to see how badly things can go wrong. As an MP for a Norfolk constituency she seems to be celebrating that the government has withdrawn nearly £200 million pounds for a project in Norfolk which will probably lead to a loss referred to earlier, a project which her Conservative colleagues signed up to, Sadly she seems not to have been influnced by her dad sho is a really nice guy. Just shows waht rubbish the daily mail writes, sometimes people learn nothing from their father!
